Chlotrudis 2003 02/03: Saving Human Lives was selected from over 100 entries to compete as one of the final 12 films in the 3rd Annual Chlotrudis Short Film Festival. Cine-Matrimony. 10/02: Cine-Magic was honored to screen a selection of our films at the wedding of David Ewald & Saralyn Vergenz. Gas N' Fuels wins $'s at Low Voltage. 10/02: Our short film Gas N' Fuel took 'Best Film' honors at St. Paul's Low Voltage Film Festival. Following the event web-loggers described the film as "a hilarious, professional-quality parody" and "incredibly funny". | ![]() |

Summer wrap-up. 08-09/02: In August we finished some final re-shoots on our long awaited short film The Day Robert DeNiro Met James Caan. Additionally Saving Human Lives was screened as part of the amazing new Central Standard Film Festival in Minneapolis. Thanks to everyone who came out to the screening. Happy Birthday to us. 05/02: In May Cine-Magic turned one year old. Hopefully we've got a few more good years left in us. Our birthday was all right. We did not get much in the way of presents and hardly anyone called or sent cards. Hopefully when our 2nd birthday rolls around someone will get us that cool remote control Nascar set we asked for. |

Gas N' Fuel premiere. 02/02: The Cine-Magic/S-Heads production "Gas N' Fuel Employee Training Video #4-A: Making it Happen" premiered on Monday March 4th at The Heights Theater in N.E. Mpls. We won...sort of. 11/01: The 7th Annual 2-Minute Film Trials was held in early November 2001 at Grumpy's Bar in downtown Minneapolis. As part of the trials the Cine-Magic group was proud to screen a dual 16mm (or 32mm) film titled "Even The Roman Army Traveled Upon Its Stomach". The film received an award of excellence, but was not ranked among the top 3 entrants. |

Another fest screening. 10/01:The Cine-Magic short film "The Dirt, Scarcity & The Emptiness" was screened as part of the Reel Twisted Minnesota Film Festival which was held at the Weismann Art Museum on the U of M campus. Cine-Magic staffers could not attend the event. One C-M staffer was in South Dakota at the time, and another was working at a Magic Shop. The screening was a success by all accounts. Joe has since quit his magic shop job. |

We hate it when our friends are successful (not really). 06/01: In June 2001, longtime Cine-Magic supporter and friend Benno Nelson won the I Shot The Band Contest sponsored by IFILM. Several Cine-Magic staffers worked on the video that Benno used to win the contest. Congratulations Benno. I guess you think you're pretty cool now huh? - Benno Rules! |

Initially several Cine-Magic staffers had planned to attend the event, however the entire Cine-Magic staff was busy working on a future 'award winning' film on the weekend of the event. That's what we like to call "suffering for our art" |

Cine-Magic returns to Wisconsin roots 04/01:The Cine-Magic/S Heads short film "A Young Man's Guide To Dating" was screened in March as part of the Wisconsin Film Festival in Madison WI. The film was also selected by members of the Madison media as being one of the top 3 entries in the fest (over 110 films were screened). The film's co-writer and actor Joseph Pickett was on hand at the screening for a question & answer session following the film. Joe had several beers before and after his Q & A. Joe is from Wisconsin. |

Cine-Magic shorts screened at Bijou film festival-controversy ensues. 03/01: The Cine-Magic short films "Dallas" and "Rules Of Gold For 1992" were both screened in March 2001 as part of The Bijou Film Festival held at the University of Minnesota. Cine-Magic staffers attending the event were reportedly dissatisfied with the substandard screening facilities provided by the University. |

GIANT in production. 02/01: The Cine-Magic docu-drama "Wish I Was A Giant" officially went into production in early March 2001. The films director Geoff Haas predicted a very long production period. There is no tentative completion date for this film. Maybe in 2004/05? Maybe not. We'll see. UPDATE: A Jerome Grant was NOT secured for this project in the summers of 2002 or 2003, thus further extending the already very long production phase of this project. | |

AT SOME POINT...we were born. ?/01: We have somewhat arbitrarily given ourselves the birth date of May 2001, however we had done many projects individually and together before forming as Cine-Magic in 2001. |
