WHAT IS (Or Was) THE CINE-MAGIC VIDEO CLUB?
The Cine-Magic Video Club was the oldest and most prestigious video club operating in the Midwest and serving an elite group of discerning members world-wide.
WHAT WAS IN A TYPICAL VIDEO CLUB RELEASE?
Every Video Club release was meticulously compiled by our staff of content experts and every release was guaranteed to contain material of only the finest quality. The exact contents of these releases is difficult to predict or describe.
WHAT HAS BEEN ON PREVIOUS RELEASES?
See for yourself by viewing our checklist below.
CAN I JOIN THE CLUB?
No-sadly the Cine-Magic Video now only exists in the memories and dreams of those lucky former members. The club was a bold experiment that lasted for several years despite inconsistent financial support.
WHAT DO WE DO NOW?
Do not despair-all is not lost. From the ashes of the C-M Video Club the triumphant phoenix that is The Found Footage Festival has risen! We've taken a number of our treasured favorites and have re-packaged them for this new found art project.

Winter 2001/Release 001: "Hot & Steaming". For our inaugural release we offered up this rockin' promotional video for a MN heavy metal combo. We love it, and we think you will too. Don't forget the Jaggermeister kids! (NOTE - In the summer of 2001 Cine-Magic staffers spotted 2 of the good looking gents from this video on the Jumbotron screen at the Metrodome. Congratulations guys!)

Spring 2001/Release 002: "Mangled Rubber Hands". Be careful not to mangle your artificial limbs in the heavy machinery. This release is equally funny and cringe inducing. This classic industrial video paints nasty little pictures of "on the job" accidents. More gore than most horror films, and it's only 3 minutes long! You'll be a better & safer person after viewing this tape. Also included is the BONUS trailer for the Cine-Magic documentary film project featuring David Blair (pictured).

Summer 2001/Release 003: "Experimental Edit". If you already have it, we're very sorry! If you've never seen it, maybe that's for the best. This is our most controversial and shocking release to date. View it at your own risk. Beyond description, and bordering on bad taste, this release is sure to live in infamy. Banned in 26 States, and absolutely forbidden in Canada!

Fall 2001/Release 004: "The Toast of Canada". For our fall release we officially released our 2 short films "DALLAS" and "RULES OF GOLF FOR 1992" to celebrate their inclusion in the Toronto "Splice This" film festival. For a BONUS Cine-Magic is pleased to present a sampling of the evangelical humor of Dennis "The Swan" Swanberg-America's Minister of Encouragement. Please visit The Swan at his website).

Winter 2001-02/Release 005: "Life Is Just Dirt". To commemorate the inclusion of our short film "THE DIRT, SCARCITY, AND THE EMPTINESS" in the Reel Twisted MN film festival, we sent it out as part of our winter 01 release. We also included the big BONUS "LIFE IS FOR LIVING". This tape is in the same genre as our Spring 01 release (see below), so expect happy accidents and major blood loss. Ouch!

Spring/Summer 2002/Release 006: "Holiday Bearclaw". Cine-Magic leaps into the world of split-screen and prank phone calls, and the result is "EVEN THE ROMAN ARMY TRAVELED UPON ITS STOMACH". For a BONUS we are reaching into our archives and including the historically skewed and oddly compelling "BROWN FAMILY ZEPPELIN".

Fall 2002/Release 007: "Saving Human Lives". We premiered this short film in March 2002 along with another Cine-Magic film - GAS N' FUEL. Before we sent it out to festivals, we wanted to share it with our club. As a BONUS we offered a up a sampling of a tape sent to us by a loyal video club member who responded to our pleas for quality video submissions. We hope you like Wisconsin cable access home shopping? Because we love it!

Winter/Spring 2002-03/Release 008: "Fast Food Rappin'". For this release we offered up the finest corporate fast food rapping ever captured on videotape in the late 80's. This video almost makes minimum wage seem fun...because of the rapping...and the crazy editing. As a BONUS we also threw in a few Cine-Magic trailers to round out the release.
Fall 2003/Winter 2004/Release 009: In this, our FINAL jam-packed release we teamed up with the good folks at foundmagazine.com to offer a sampling of their found-footage masterpiece Memorial Day 2000. This is basically home video footage of idiots drinking, fighting, destroying property and drinking some more. Talk about BONUS's - to round off this release we included a retrospective clips reel from the first 2 years of Cine-Magic. Also included is a trailer for the action packed Milkhouse production "Don't Go Panicking On Me Man" and a trailer for the voyeuristically spectacular "Kirk's 40th Birthday".
